American Idol Judges
The American idol judges are most definitely the backbone of the show. while the contestants make the show, these judges drive it so that America keeps wanting more. Accomplished music industry icons within their respective niches ... performing, producing or both, only these 3 together provided the show with the personality it needed in the beginning to make American Idol a hit with the viewers.
SIMON COWELL
As much as we all love to hate Simon, you have to give this music producer credit. His concept of this show in the very beginning was absolutely brilliant. Anyone can come up with a great idea, but Simon did more than that. He was instrumental in bringing the show to life and delivering a package that the public would grab and hold on to forever. I am sure he had help, but he does get the credit for picking a panel of judges that America would eat up. I don't think he realized just how much chemistry they all would have working together. Their abilities to play off each other with both professional and sibling type love hate relationships adds to the ratings. Don't get me wrong, I love to hate Simon Cowell just as much as everyone else. But you have to hand it to the man, he did a great job integrating the concept of the American dream into the show American Idol.
PAULA ABDUL
Every show must have sex appeal built into it right? The former Laker girl and accomplished pop star is just that. Now that you know a man wrote this blog, ladies you have to admit she was the perfect choice. Even though she was a successful pop star, I am not sure how valid her vocal critique's are. She seems to really feel the music and focus on entertainment value. If you think back, she was a great performer, but not necessarily a hall of fame singer. Sorry Paula. Anyways her added personality fits perfect as she likes to make a stand against the boys on the panel at times, specifically Simon Cowell. A truly great judge that has provided the American Idol show the sex appeal and drama it needs ... both with the judges and contestants.
RANDY JACKSON
Randy has done everything in the music business and is a renowned authority on vocal talent. In teh industry since the 1980's randy is a true asset to the American Idol culture and the perfect fit for the American Idol judges panel. Opposite of Simon Cowell, Randy is an American Idol Judge with spunk, charisma and style that knows how to dial in to the contestants to accurately judge their true talent and vocal potential. While he stays out of the drama between Simon and Paula, he does have a tendency to over do it with the "hey dawg" "whats up dawg" lingo that he brings to the mix as part of his self branding on the panel. He doesn't draw the attention that the other two judges get, but he most certainly provides the most valuable and on point critiques of the three American Idol Judges.
